Taking Care of Cloth Diapers

Believe  us when we say, it’s not that difficult to take care of cloth diapers. Here, we’re talking about the old skool cloth diaper. The square, white coloured cotton cloth diaper.

Yes, it’s a little bit time consuming compared to disposable diapers, but hey, it’s healthier and safer for both your baby and the environment. We at Cool Tots, want to encourage everyone to go au natural as much as we can. Remember, what we do today has the effect tomorrow. And who’s going to be around tomorrow if it is not our children? So, let’s make a small move to be greener, in any way we can!

Right, what you need is a pail with soapy water by the ready. We suggest to leave it in the bathroom, to avoid puddles in the common area. When you have a soiled diaper, just rinse it with running water until the colour of urine or stool lightens. If the stool is solid, flush it in the toilet first and rinse the diaper. Then, dump the wet diaper into the pail ever ready with soapy water.

Once a day, dump the whole content into your washer. Put a bit more soap, and let it run its course. You can mix it with other baby clothes, since you already rinsed the diapers before you put it into the pail.

It might seems like an impossible task, but if women before us can do it, we can too!

The great thing about this cloth diaper is that, it’s so light, you can hang two together at a time. So, you save space. Or, do it like we do. Fold the the diaper into half, and hang it. Once it’s dried, you can immediately fold it smaller for storage.

There you go, easy peasy. You have white, sweet scenting white cloth diapers all the time!

Note to remember; NEVER leave soiled diaper un-rinsed. The stain will be difficult to remove.
